Nike Daily Trainer

Nike Pegasus 41 – the running shoe that does it all

The Nike Pegasus 41 is the shoe you lace up in the morning and simply head out in: around the block, through the park, at speed on the track or all the way to a weekend half marathon. More cushioning, noticeable propulsion and a versatile ride make it a strong all-rounder for your everyday running.

Is the Nike Pegasus 41 right for you – or not?

The Pegasus 41 is a versatile running shoe for anyone looking for a reliable training partner. It is especially strong if you have a neutral gait and want a shoe that can do more than just one thing.

The Pegasus 41 is right for you if ...

  • you are looking for a shoe for easy runs and tempo training.
  • you mainly run on asphalt and firm paths.
  • you have a neutral gait and do not need extra support.
  • you want a durable daily trainer for lots of training kilometres.
  • you are just getting into running and want to be well equipped.

Take a look at something else if ...

  • you want maximum cushioning for very long distances: Nike Vomero 18.
  • you spend a lot of time on trails: Nike Pegasus Trail 5.
  • you need more stability because of overpronation: Nike Structure.
  • you are looking for a very light racing shoe for race pace.
  • you prefer a minimalist, especially close-to-the-ground ride.

What can the Nike Pegasus 41 do?

The core of the Pegasus 41 is the ReactX midsole. It feels softer than the React material used in its predecessor and is supported by two Air Zoom units: one under the heel and one under the forefoot. This gives you more energy return at toe-off without making the shoe feel sluggish.

1

ReactX cushioning

A softer ride and more comfort, especially during longer sessions.

2

Air Zoom

Two Zoom units deliver a noticeable push at toe-off.

3

Engineered mesh

Lightweight, breathable and comfortable on the foot. The fit is on the narrow side.

4

Waffle tread

The outsole grips reliably on asphalt and firm gravel.

Our assessment: How does the Nike Pegasus 41 feel on the run?

From the first few metres, you notice that the Pegasus 41 rolls more softly under the heel than its predecessor. The ReactX material gives pleasantly, while the Air Zoom units deliver a noticeable push at toe-off – especially through the forefoot.

For forefoot and midfoot runners, the front section feels rather firm. Anyone looking for a very soft forefoot feel may not be completely happy with it. For heel strikers, however, that is hardly an issue.

Our verdict: The Pegasus 41 is not a racing shoe, but it is not a pure comfort model either. It sits right in the middle of cushioning, response and versatility – and that is exactly what makes it such a strong daily trainer.

Nike Pegasus 41 vs. Pegasus 40 – is the update worth it?

Feature Pegasus 40 Pegasus 41
Midsole React ReactX, softer and with more energy return
Stack height 33 mm 36 mm, plus 3 mm
Men's weight approx. 281 g approx. 297 g
Upper Mesh Engineered mesh, lighter and more breathable
Recommendation If you want to save money and are happy with the 40. If you want more cushioning for longer distances.

The Pegasus 41 is not a revolutionary update, but the thicker sole and ReactX material are especially noticeable on runs over 10 kilometres.
